Hi! I’m Jacob. I was born in Slovakia (a central European country), and thanks to my parents, I was able to visit European vacation hotspots from a young age. From the Greek or Spanish islands to the Turkish coastline, I loved observing the cultural differences, eating unknown food, and speaking bad English to locals. In high school, after I met my girlfriend (now my lovely wife), we started to travel together every summer break.
But my real passion started after my first trip outside of Europe, to Vietnam. The cultural shock was so great that I can still vividly remember the first few hours. It was new, unknown, adventurous, fulfilling, scary, and joyful at the same time.
I‘ve visited many more places since then, and I want everyone to be able to experience that. So many people tell me they’re scared or think it’s dangerous to visit these destinations when the reality is very different if you’re responsible.
After 6 years at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, I got my medical degree and started working at the Department of Hematology, Oncology, and Internal Medicine. After more than a year, I quit and started working on something I’ve had in my head for years: Globroads.
